Wings of Fire

When the light within chases the darkness out,

I ride the rays of sulfur,

I emanate from your being

as wings of dreaming thoughts,

breathing in the streaks of infinity.

I fly;

I fly out, out of my self

through and into the infinity before me,

leaving my nothingness behind.

Only then I realize that I had been you

all the while of my ignorance

throughout all the being of my not being.

On those wings of fire

I draw unto you

in the dispersion of your beingness—

manifested thoughts—

that I claim mine.

The thoughts my heart has been denying all along.

Thoughts whose flight away from my nothingness

leave a fading imprint behind—

a cosmic dust speck that I am,

a longing vision

caught in the moment’s glow and glory

knowing not, seeing you fly away to your Self.

# Wings of Fire When the light within routs the dark that housed it, I mount the rays of sulfur, I pour forth from your being as wings of dreaming thought, drawing breath from the streaks of infinity.

I fly. I fly out, past the walls of self, through and into the infinity that waits before me, leaving my nothingness in the dust behind. Only then do I know: I had been you all through the long ignorance of my becoming, through every being of my unbeing. * On these wings of fire I gather unto you in the scattering of your beingness — thoughts made flesh that I dare to call my own, the very thoughts my heart had long denied. Thoughts whose flight from my nothingness leaves only a fading trace behind — a speck of cosmic dust, and that speck is me, a longing vision caught in the glow and the glory of a single moment, not knowing, watching you take flight toward your Self.
